City of Marlow

Mayor Brian Davis and the Marlow City Council have issued a revised Declaration of Emergency through April 30, 2020 amid concerns of community spread of COVID-19. The declaration took effect at 11:59 p.m., April 1, 2020. The declaration amends a previous declaration from March 16, 2020, and strictly follows the Executive Order of Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt, all amendments, and all future amendments during this crisis. The declaration puts all citizens under a "Shelter-in-Place" order through April 30, 2020, in an effort to prevent community spread of COVID-19.

What does "Shelter-in-Place" mean?
In general, it is simple:

  • IN ALL CASES, MAINTAIN 6 FEET OF DISTANCE BETWEEN YOU AND OTHERS
  • Stay home. Exceptions are included below.
  • You can shop for groceries, medicine, fuel, repairs and other essential goods and services.
  • You can frequent a restaurant's drive-through, take-out, or curbside service.
  • You can visit the doctor (please call office first), and take care of other essential needs.
  • You can exercise outside, including walks, jogging, bike rides and fishing. You can use sidewalks, trails and green spaces at city-owned parks. The Hideout, and all city owned playground equipment, is closed.
  • You can go to work in an essential job. You can do business with someone working at an essential job. These jobs are defined by the State of Oklahoma using a federal list and one provided by the Governor. Find out more here.
  • You can drive, bike, walk or ride. Special identification is not necessary at this time. Marlow Police are not asking for proof why you are outside your home.
  • Staff are allowed on site even at closed non-essential businesses for basic tasks like maintenance and security.
  • You can check on someone in need.
  • You can donate at blood drives, and volunteer at regular and disaster response activities.
  • Staff can be at faith based sites to record or broadcast services.
  • Wash your hands upon leaving and returning to your home. The CDC recommends washing for at least 20 seconds each time.

Please check links to the left for valuable information from Governor Kevin Stitt. You can also find useful information on assistance for small business through the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.
