The Duncan Police Department, in partnership with the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office, is currently participating in a Speed Enforcement Project. The goal of the project is to decrease injuries and property damage by decreasing the frequency and intensity of traffic collisions within the City of Duncan. The enforcement project entails Duncan Police Officers working overtime to specifically target problem areas within the Duncan city limits such our highways, through streets and other areas where speed is a factor in traffic collisions.
The project is funded through a grant managed by the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office which reimburses the City of Duncan for salaries and benefits of the officers. The project began in October and will continue through October of 2013.
We appreciate the cooperation and support of the citizens of Duncan in our efforts to improve the safety and quality of life in Duncan.
