Duncan Fire Department and City of Duncan congratulate firefighters Sergeant James Bourke, Captain Cade Roth, and Assistant Chief Clay McCarley on their recent promotions presented by Deputy Chief Ryan Ellis at the June 24, 2025, City of Duncan Council meeting. 

Sergeant J. Bourke started his career with the department on December 8th, 2020. He was promoted to Corporal on June 9th, 2022, and promoted to the rank of Sergeant on May 22, 2025. 

Captain C. Roth started his career with the department on December 5th, 2012. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on March 22nd, 2018, and to the rank of Captain on May 22nd, 2025. 

Assistant Chief C. McCarley started his career with the department on July 26th, 2007. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on December 8th, 2011, to the rank of Captain on September 6 th, 2019 and was promoted to the rank of Assistant Chief on May 22nd, 2025. We offer our congratulations to each of them and appreciate their continued commitment to serving our citizens.

The City of Duncan Fire Department will begin fire hydrant flow testing on Monday, May 6th, 2024.

Firefighters will begin flow testing at the east city limits and work toward the west side of the city. It will take approximately one month to test over 1500 hydrants, depending on weather, staffing, and emergency calls.

Annual flow testing is a check of operations and systems. Testing is done to measure the flow rate of each fire hydrant and to ensure the system is providing the proper fire protection to all residential and commercial areas of Duncan. The test also flushes sediment and rust to ensure the system is working at maximum flow rate.

Households may experience a slight change in water pressure during testing. If washing clothes during the testing in your area, please be aware that discoloration of articles of clothing may occur.
