The Duncan Fire Department (DFD) began in June 1897. The DFD has 48 full-time personnel and operates 3 fire stations with a call volume of 3,800 annually. DFD's current ISO rating is a 3 within the Duncan City Limits and provides Fire, EMS, Hazmat, and Rescue Services within a 67 square mile area assisting a population of 24,600. In addition to the mentioned services, DFD assists the community with residential smoke and carbon monoxide detector installation and inspection, Fire Inspection, Code Enforcement, tours, visits, and special events when schedules allow.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Duncan Fire Department is to protect the community and its visitors through public education, fire prevention, fire suppression, emergency rescue, disaster preparedness, and other services in order to minimize the loss of life and property due to natural or man-made events.
