Community Development Director, Nate Schacht, key stakeholders and engaged citizens spent the 2024 calendar year discussing the current, and future, quality of life for our community, which was presented to and approved by City Council in January 2025.

Planning drafts have been completed for transportation, alternative transportation, infrastructure, public facilities, public safety, parks and recreation, environment, and social services with additional drafts in progress for health and nutrition, economic development, education and soon to be plans for arts/culture, neighborhood engagement, and housing.

Discussions for the plans will be moved to quarterly meetings to be held March 25, June 23, September 22, and December 15, 2025. Meetings are from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the first-floor conference room at City Hall, 1600 S. Hwy 81 in Duncan. 

During the June 23 meeting citizens discussed and were updated on the following topics: housing, economic development, arts and culture, and social services. 

Thank you to all who attended the 2024 meetings, shared their voices, and engaged in the planning stages thus far so that Duncan moves forward with vision to ensure our community is great place to live, play and work. We look forward to hearing from you in 2025.
